Delete your Posy account
App: Posy — Group Gifting · Developer: Overclock Minds Ltd · Package: uk.posy.app
You can delete your Posy account yourself, at any time, without asking us. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no grace period and nothing is recoverable afterwards.
In the app (fastest)
- Open Posy and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Privacy settings.
- Choose Erase my account and confirm.
The same screen offers Download my data, which gives you a JSON export of your account details, the events you own, your memberships, the gifts you added and the reservations you made. Take that export first if you want a copy — once the account is erased we cannot produce one.
By email (if you cannot sign in)
Write to hello@overclockminds.co.uk from the email address on the account, with the subject Delete my Posy account. We will verify that you control the address and complete the deletion within 30 days, normally within a few working days. We will email you to confirm when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your account: email address, password hash, display name, avatar URL, language and currency.
- Every event you own, and everything inside it — gift ideas, notes, prices, RSVPs and Secret Santa draws.
- Your membership of every event you joined, including events owned by other people.
- Reservations you made, and the gifts you added to your own events.
- Your notification and privacy settings, your block list, and your registered push-notification devices.
- Reports you filed are unlinked from you, so they can no longer identify you as the reporter.
What is not deleted, and why
- Events owned by other people stay with their owner. Your membership of them is removed, and so is anything that identified you — but a gift idea you added to someone else’s event remains in that event, no longer linked to you. Deleting your account cannot empty a list other people are still using.
- Images already uploaded may remain in file storage for a short period after the database record is removed, until routine storage cleanup rotates them out.
- Backups and security logs are kept for a short retention period and then rotate out. We do not restore a deleted account from a backup.
- Records we are legally required to keep, if any apply, are retained for as long as the law requires and for no other purpose.
