Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Posy (“Posy”, “we”, “us”) for your use of the Posy app and website. By creating an account, joining an event as a guest, or otherwise using Posy, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Posy.

1. What Posy is

Posy is a group-gifting organiser. It lets you create gift events, share wishlists, draw Secret Santa names, coordinate who is buying what, and keep that hidden from the recipient. Posy is an organising tool: we do not sell gifts, we are not a party to any purchase you make from a retailer, and we do not deliver anything.

2. Who may use Posy

You must be at least 13 years old to use Posy, and at least 18 to create an account and host events. You are responsible for anything that happens under your account, and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to your account.

3. Payments

Posy does not process payments and does not hold or move any money. Where an event uses a pooled gift, Posy records what people say they have contributed so the group can coordinate — the money itself is settled between you outside Posy, by whatever means you choose. Posy is not a payment service, an e-money institution or a money remitter, and nothing in the app should be read as us handling your funds. Any dispute about money between members of an event is between those people.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put into Posy — gift ideas, event names, photos, notes and messages. You give us a limited licence to store, copy and display that content for the sole purpose of running the service for you and the people you share an event with. You confirm you have the right to upload anything you upload.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Posy to:

Posy has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report content or people from inside the app, and you can block someone at any time. Blocking hides that person from the member list of every event you share with them and stops their activity reaching your notifications; it does not delete anything they have already added, and it does not tell them. We review every report within 24 hours. Where content or behaviour breaks these rules, we remove the offending content and suspend or terminate the account responsible.

6. Availability

We work to keep Posy running, but we provide it “as is” and do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. If we discontinue Posy, we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data.

7. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for a gift that arrives late or not at all, for a surprise that is spoiled, or for a disagreement between members of an event. If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.

8. Ending your use

You can stop using Posy and delete your account at any time from Profile → Privacy settings → Erase my account. Deletion is permanent. We may terminate or suspend your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. See Delete your account for the full detail.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Posy after that means you accept the updated terms.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
